  • Pressed By – GZ Media

Mine has more crackle in the quiet sections than I would like... maybe something to do with the GZ plant as others have mentioned? This is unfortunate since Elbow's power comes from their dynamics. Even so, it sounds pretty amazing when it's rocking. If you can get a decent price on this, I'd still recommend it as the set is a pretty thorough representation of the band's discography.
This arrived in the post today, I see from the back its pressed by GZ media not Sony as its stated here, so my expectations are extremely low.. maybe I'll be lucky and get a GZ pressing that doesn't sound like a track from Spotify pressed onto a road surface I do have a few but not many, there bit like rocking horse Sh*t..
Broke down and bought this before I saw Maelzoid's review.
I have to agree with him/her. My pressing sounds great and I haven't heard any pops or noise, minus something ever to slightly and for about a second or less.

If you were on the fence on getting this; pick it up.

The packaging could have been better and I would have paid another few dollars for it, but the lyrics are on the sleeve itself, so at least they are somewhere.
This is a very nice pressing. Vinyl is 180g, flat and fairly noiseless. Due to the length of the sides, it is a bit quieter than some of my other records. It's not quite perfect as there are a few crackles here and there, which is noticeable on the quieter sections, but this is really minimal. The mastering sounds great to my ears. Elbow make quite dynamic music full of detail and nuance, and this is translated very nicely on this pressing.

I find the packaging a little disappointing. The Rubik's cube artwork is a bit naff, and the rest of the packaging ls rather uninspired. There are no sleeve notes, commentary from the band is nice in this kind of retrospective, but they don't even mention which albums each cut is from which is frustrating.

I picked this up for less than £25 and at that price point it represents great value, because there is a lot of music here - 3 long LPs - rendered in very nice sound.
Anyone know how this pressing sounds?
I'd be interested in knowing; I own all their CDs and I really don't have room to buy all the LPs, so this would be a nice compromise
