"A SPECIAL GATHERING AT THE BATACLAN IN 1972
FIRST PART OF AN EXCEPTIONAL EVENT IN THE POPULAR MUSIC PANORAMA OF THE SEVENTIES
AWESOME PERFORMANCE BY THREE OF THE MOST CONTROVERSIAL ICONS OF THE '60S CULTURAL COUNTERREVOLUTION"
(from the sticker on the plastic sleeve)
The gathering of three former Velvet Underground members at the Bataclan in January 1972 is something that can easily be remembered as one of the most important events in the popular music panorama of the Seventies. The venue was too small for the crowd that milled around attempting to witness what was expected to be a true VU reunion. Far from being that, this gig was however an awesome performance by three of the most controversial icons of the 60s cultural counterrevolution. Here these black angels can be heard performing memorable versions of their best cult tunes like “Waiting For The Man” “Black Angel’s Death Song” and the closing hymn “All Tomorrow’s Parties”.
This is the second record of the set. They were sold individually.
Also released on 180 Gram black vinyl with pictures of the event on each side.
