This album is on the verge of being disco rather that funk and/or soul. Songs are remixed with heavy disco influence in mind. I really align with the below comment, ref: original versions are indeed sonically superior, with greater depth and attention to detail. Nevertheless interesting take and it won’t disappoint disco/house enthusiasts.
After hearing this album a few times I prefer the original versions and doubt personally if Mrs. J had anything to do with this remix project, some of the new versions have killed (in my opinion) the quality and power of the originals, specially listen to track B2 before you buy.
