While old-school trance snobs or newbie whipper-snappers decry this collection as "mediocre", "non-essential" (or whatever), this collection should be considered as mind-expanding for superficial ravers and trance punters, mainly for the proliferation of Goa, psy-trance, or industrial-based progressive electronica not normally grouped together for a mass-appeal oriented retail dance anthology.

If you're not already familiar with the following standout luminaries, do yourself a huge favor and investigate heartily the following artists well-represented in this series: there are 3 tracks by SYSTEM 7 (plus a track by SYSTEM 10) with mastermind Steve Hillage (GONG, ORB, SPHYNX with HAWKIND's Nik Turner; SIMPLE MINDS producer, etc.), a couple of tracks by the always-heavy JUNO REACTOR (aka Ben Watkins, ex-BRILLIANT with Youth KILLING JOKE), PRO>TECH is Bill Lieb (FRONTLINE ASSEMBLY, DELERIUM, NOISE UNIT, SKINNY PUPPY, etc.) and SYNAESTHESIA which [featuring] both Bill Lieb and Rhys Fulber (FLA, DELERIUM, WILL, CONJURE ONE, FEAR FACTORY, etc.) is basically a "secret" [side-project] offshoot of FLA or DELERIUM. Oh, and I'm not forgetting TALLA 2XLC, too; but his resume and associations contributing to the EBM and hard electronic underground are exhaustive and too numerous to mention.

The rest of the contributors with equally worthwhile heavy tracks include [psytrance, Goa, or progressive trance by] COLOR BOX, SOLAR PLEXUS, BYPASS UNIT, CRUDE INFINITY, DJ KOERBER (aka TRANSISTORYHTHM), DJ KAM, DJ AIRBOURNE, DRAGONSPIRIT, JANI LANE *(ASTRALASIA remix!), acid-fueled DJ 2iaX; [ambient dub-ish] PRESSURE OF SPEECH; [dark industrial techno] SPAHN RANCH, TRANSMUTATOR (breakbeats); [acid] FILTER SECTION; etc.

With all the aforementioned mentionables (Lol), the pop-oriented tracks and questionable updated cover-versions inadvertently become irrelevant filler. All this could be distilled down to just a double-CD, and still is worth the price of 4 individual discs.
